Nature of Work:

This position entails performing miRNA arrays from patient serum, confirmatory RT-PCR, data analysis and patient clinical information entry into RedCap. This position also requires molecular analysis of animal and human tissue. In addition, the candidate will be expected to diagnose and problem solve as it relates to the research project; and collaboration with other PRAs, Sr. PRAs, and post docs in the lab.

Professional Field:

A baccalaureate degree or equivalent training in an appropriate field is also required (biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology or similar)

Example of Work Performed:

The successful candidate for this position will prepare samples for miRNA arrays, perform arrays and analyze data. The candidate will also perform confirmatory RT-PCR. This PRA will also be required to enter patient clinical information into RedCap. Also, this PRA may be assessing the biochemical and pharmacologic characteristics of explanted human or animal hearts utilizing biochemical and molecular measurements. Other qualifications include, but are not limited to: attention to detail, ability to write scientific reports, IRB protocol maintenance, RT-PCR experiments, and database management. This is a part-time position and working hours are restricted to 6 PM – 10 PM weekdays and/or weekends.

Minimum Requirements:

Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. molecular or cellular biology, molecular pharmacology, biochemistry). Work will be performed primarily at the Anschutz Medical Campus at Fitzsimons.
